Memorial Day

We had a nice day here today. Em, I feel for ya, girl. I am home today with the twins and they are at that stage where they are listening very well. They have been in this stage for about three years now. I think I may be a failure as a parent. No sure but it is looking like a reality each day.

I have one day of work left and boy am I ready. I had a great year, though. I can't believe I'm finishing my 12th year.

Jenna will be coming home Monday. We are in the process of packing and moving Rob and Emily. We will be moving them starting Sunday after church. We are also looking for people in the family who might want to take a weekly shift helping Emily with the babies. The shifts run about four hours during the day and night shift starts at 10pm and ends at 6 or 7am. She is going to have a bedroom set up to sleep in for the workers. She will need two people at a time so pick a friend or family member and sign up. If you want more info call Emily. She really needs help on Friday and Saturday night (I think). If we all pitch in it will make life a lot easier on her and you will get to know the babies. It's a win, win situation. She is starting shifts Monday.

Hey children, does anyone have any new photos to post? Just love seeing lots of pictures. Anyway, Jeff and I are still landscaping the front yard and it will be awsome when we are finished. I will take pictures. Nothing new here on our little home front except "Thank God" for weekends. I hope everyone is well and also Mel, any new pictures of the babies?

Cheap tickets

Hey, Cathy, and all!

Not to rub it in or anything - HA - this is to so rub it in - I only have 8 more days of work until it is SUMMER!!!!! These last few days are really hard but I keep my kids so busy they don't have time to be too hateful. Some manage but I remind myself that I only have a few days left. I take a lot of deep breaths.

I found those tickets on xjet.com which is very limited but happens to fly out of Louisville and one of it's destinations is where Sandy lives in NC.

Mom and Dad are going in June for the same price.

We are going July 18-25. I think the kids will only last a week.

Catching Up

Thank to all who attended Ross and Carrie's Wedding. We all had a wonderful time. It was really hard to see my daughter standing up there becoming a true family of her own. It was very hard to hold back the tears. And to all that was there got to witness the tenderness of Ross crying and Carrie making sure he was ok!!! Oh heck, it makes me cry every time I think about it!!! The two got off on their honeymoon on Monday morning. They went to Pigeon Forge for four days. They are supposed to be back on Friday. I have been watching Thomas while they are gone. Today I got to stay home with him because he has pink eye. Yippee!!! Just what I dont need. I know its contagious, but I know nothing more about it. Anyhoooo...I will be happy when mom and dad come back and take him home. Love the little guy with all my soul, but Ninny2 is pooped out!!! I also took a super duper head cold on Saturday the day of the wedding. That just ain't right!!!
Congrats to Cathy for stepping over to the techno side. All is well over here. I am so happy your surgery has went well. Now you are an official member of the Hollow Gals Club. Membership is free!!! Take your time to recover and relax and refresh. Enjoy the time off!

Cheap Tickets, Missy!!

Missy, Wow. Great price on plane tickets. Give us some tips on how you do this. Last year we were searching for some cheap tickets for Matt and Jake for Florida, I already had a free ticket due to a Delta screw-up on one of my business trips. Anyway, we never found anything real good.

When are you going? When do you get out of school? I'll bet you're counting down the days!!!!

Oh well, another day of laying around and watching daytime TV. It's kind of fun, but looking forward to feeling better so I can get out of the house and do some fun things.

Thanks for all your prayers and thoughts for my surgery. All went well and as expected, I'm still a little sore and weak, hopefully will be feeling better by the weekend. I've been taken good care of by Jake,Matt and wonderful friends and neighbors. We've had food brought in and people have taken Jake home with them to play, flowers and plants and cards have been delivered. We are very blessed to have alot of support since we have no family here. I hope to join Jake's class next week for a field trip on Tuesday and maybe have lunch a few times with him before schools out. You know, stuff, working Mom's don't usually get to do.

I've really enjoyed keeping up with family news and the pic's on this blog thingie , especially pic'
s of all the new sweetie pie babies. They are all sooo cute. I hope to get to see little Aubrie in a few weeks. If all goes as planned we will be going to Florida the first week of June. See..., I might post some pictures too if I only would join the 21st century and get a digital camera. But then I would have to learn how to use it and stuff and that just sounds too stressful.

Sorry I missed Carrie's shower and wedding, sounds like good times were had by all. Congrats to the Newlyweds.

hey i finally got it thanks aunt lindy for the help. all the pics are very beautiful, especially the wedding pics, Carrie looks so grown up now, How old is she anyway Alissa? i remember when she was just a little girl now she is a woman..Wow !! And thanks a bunch to mel for post the kids pics i really enjoy seeing them, they are all getting so big and gorgeous kids, i didn't think i could produce she wonderful angels and you are truly a godsend to take them in and care for them so well, you are truly doing a wonderful job with them ,if yu wouldn't mind to send me some pics either on cd or photos, that would be muchly appreciated and as soon as i get a scanner up in here i will be letting everyone see my new baby on the sonograms that i have and it 's going to be another girl. Sydney is home

Sydney is home! Isn't she a beauty! Rob and Emily are so proud of their babies. Emily was so ready for a girl in the house. Sydney broke us in right. She pooped and made us smell it the last 10 min of the ride home. God is so good. I just have to praise him. These babies are miracles, no one can deny that! St. Mary's had a baby shower for them today. Here is one of the cakes, isn't it cute. Thanks for the prayers. Love you all!

next update on sydney

Dr. says Sydney will come home tomorrow. As for Sydney's heart, the valve that should be growing shut hasn't yet. It still could on its own but she will have to see a cardiologist. With the place on her brain it is an unknown. It is a wait and see situation on how she develops. The brain is a marvelous thing. She is doing well so far. God is in control. Emily and Rob are doing good. Emily is juggling very well. I'm proud of her. She doesn't act like a first time mom. She's a pro. Keep praying.

Need prayer for Sydney

Sydney didn't get to come home today. They did a brain scan and found a spot that could be from an old brain bleed or lack of blood to a part of the brain. This can happen in premature babies and when it happens that part of the brain dies and calcifies so this puts her at great risk for Cerebral Palsy. They are doing another scan today and also checking her heart to make sure a valve has grown closed like it was supposed to. I looked Cerebral Palsy up on the web to see what it even is. I'm giving this to God. I know that no matter what he is in control and it will be fine. Just pray for Sydney, Rob and Emily for strength, comfort and peace. Sydney will be coming home tomorrow unless something would show up on her heart. I'll keep you informed.

I am glad to hear everything went good with Cathy. I'm glad she has decided to take the time off, she deserves it.

Anywho...Cathy is out of surgery and doing well. Mom said it was uneventful and the doc said she should be good to go in about 2 weeks, so the 6 weeks off should be a muchly-deserved break for her. Whew. What a relief. She is such a hard workin chick, but I think I talked her into taking the full 6 weeks off. Let's face it, how often do we get a real excuse to take that much time off work?

Howdy to all you fine folks...... It is official, I am in fact blogging. Anyway I think Carrie's shower went great and she received a lot of very nice gifts. Brad was home briefly Friday night and a little of Saturday. He is a Senior in college......Whoa Betty!!!!! That is just hard to believe. Anyway I hope that the pictures I took of him Friday afternoon came through and you can see him. I think he looks pretty darn good. His hair is longer than I would like and he is supposed to get it cut.

Jeff is leaving June 1st for Lisbon Portugal. He will be there a week for meetings. He will then fly back and be gone another week back to California, then home for a couple and then gone again and so on and so on until October....... Oh well, just part of it.......

Cathy's hysterectomy

Hey all! Cathy is having a hysterectomy on Monday. Mom and Dad are going down on Sunday to be there to help out for a couple of days. Shhhh...don't tell anyone, but Mom is mainly going cause she is worried and just wants to be there. What a good mommy. Anywho...just wanted to let you all know so that you can keep her in your prayers and hearts. Mom wasn't there for mine and has always felt a little bad about it. Go figure. I survived (but I do seem to remember missing my mommy). So everybody pray for Cathy and Mom and everyone else in the family while you're at it. Thanks. :)

Please excuse my absence from the blog site. I have been so freaking crazy trying to get last minute things done for the wedding. I haven't even really got to pay attention to my favorite show American Idol. I have to check what has happened on the net the next day. Every night it is 10 or 11 before I get home and to bed and get up at 5:30 to start all over again. We (Carrie and I) have been getting ready to have a yard sale for her to help raise money for their honeymoon. They are going to Florida for five days and are trying to get as much money together as they can. ANYHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....I hope you all will see this for the shower directions...Take Hart Street exit and head towards Walmart. At the light, turn left towards Walmart. Stay on that road. It is Kimmel Road. Follow this road past Walmart and through an "S" curve. Stay on the "S" curve!!! Go up the small hill and the third road on the right is Marian Drive. Carrie's Grandpa's house is the first drive on the right. There will be cars parked everywhere.

SOOO...if we dont see ya at the shower, please come to the wedding. There is going to be food, and cake and punch and music and dancing and food and cake and food and music and food and dancing. Did I mention food????

The babies are so precious. Can't wait to see them in real life!!!

Ethan Lane came home last night. He is so laid back. Mom, Shawn and I went to see them and give their 10pm feeding. I just love them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sydney is coming home tuesday. These pics taken day before he came home.Peyton is home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rob and Em came home Sat. with Peyton Joseph. I got to babysit yesterday while she did her shopping. He did so good. He is so tiny! I just love him so much!!!!! Em got a call while I was there from the hospital. They told her to bring two car seats to be inspected because...............Ethan will be home in 3 days and Sydney will be following a few days after that! So Wed. night or thursday there will be baby #2 home.
